Karen J. Marshall is the founder of Texas Mediation Services, LLC, where she provides professional mediation and arbitration services throughout Texas. She is a Credentialed Mediator recognized by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association (TMCA) and is committed to helping individuals, families, businesses, and organizations resolve disputes with professionalism, impartiality, and respect.
Karen mediates a broad range of disputes, including family matters, probate and estate issues, property and real estate disputes, workplace conflicts, business disagreements, and civil matters. Whether parties are seeking to preserve important relationships or simply reach a practical resolution, she provides a confidential, neutral environment where meaningful conversations can take place.
Clients appreciate Karen's calm demeanor, professionalism, and commitment to creating an atmosphere where productive discussions can occur. She believes that while conflict is a natural part of life, resolution is most often achieved when people are given the opportunity to communicate openly, explore options collaboratively, and remain in control of the outcome.
Karen is recognized by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association as a Credentialed Mediator and is an active member of the Texas Association of Mediators and the Austin Mediators Association. She also mediates court-appointed Family and Civil Law cases for the Greater Houston area and volunteers as a judge for the University of Houston Law Center's annual international mediation competition, helping mentor and evaluate future legal professionals in the art of dispute resolution.
Karen brings more than 30 years of experience in conflict resolution, leadership, negotiation, and public service to every mediation. Throughout her career, she has worked in positions requiring sound judgment, diplomacy, and the ability to navigate complex issues involving diverse interests and perspectives.
Her professional experience includes serving under two Texas Attorneys General and working as a legislative liaison between a major Texas state agency and the Texas Legislature. She has also held other leadership positions in state and higher education agencies, where she served as a Business Relationship Manager and Change Manager. These roles required balancing competing interests, facilitating productive dialogue, and building consensus among stakeholders—skills that now serve as the foundation of her mediation practice.
In addition to her mediation credentials, Karen is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), bringing a structured, organized approach to managing even the most challenging disputes. She understands that successful mediation requires careful preparation, active listening, clear communication, and a process that allows each participant to be heard with dignity and respect.
